Maxsun Unveils Three New B850 MicroATX Motherboards for AMD AM5 Platform
Maxsun has expanded its lineup of AMD AM5 motherboards with the introduction of three new B850 microATX models, designed to support the latest AMD Ryzen series processors. The new releases include the MS-B850M I-CAFE, B850M-P WIFI, and B850M-B WIFI, each offering a range of features tailored for different user needs.
MS-B850M I-CAFE: Compact Performance for DDR5 Enthusiasts
The Maxsun MS-B850M I-CAFE is a compact microATX motherboard measuring 245 x 210 mm. It is equipped with two DDR5 DIMM slots, supporting up to 128 GB of memory at speeds up to DDR5-8000 (overclocked). For expansion, the board provides one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and one PCIe 4.0 x4 slot, making it suitable for high-performance graphics cards and additional peripherals.
Storage options include two M.2 slots (one PCIe 5.0 and one PCIe 4.0) and two SATA ports. Networking is handled by a 2.5 GbE Ethernet port, while integrated graphics output is available via HDMI 1.4. The rear I/O panel features four USB 5 Gbps Type-A ports and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports. Notably, this model does not include built-in Wi-Fi.
B850M-P WIFI and B850M-B WIFI: Enhanced Connectivity and Versatility
The B850M-P WIFI and B850M-B WIFI, part of Maxsun’s Challenger series, share a similar feature set with a few key differences. Both motherboards offer a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for expansion, along with two M.2 slots and two SATA ports for storage flexibility. Integrated networking includes 2.5 GbE Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2, powered by the MediaTek MT7902 chipset.
For connectivity, both models provide a USB-C 20 Gbps front header, four USB 5 Gbps ports, and four USB 2.0 ports on the rear panel. Display outputs are robust, featuring HDMI 2.0 and dual DisplayPort connections, each supporting 4K resolution at 60 Hz for integrated graphics.
The primary distinction between the two models lies in memory support and physical dimensions. The B850M-P WIFI is the larger of the two at 245 x 245 mm and supports four DDR5 DIMM slots, accommodating up to 256 GB of memory. In contrast, the B850M-B WIFI is slightly more compact at 245 x 215 mm and offers two DIMM slots for up to 128 GB of DDR5 RAM.
Audio and Availability
All three Maxsun B850 motherboards utilize the Realtek ALC897 audio codec, ensuring reliable onboard sound quality for a range of applications. While official global pricing and availability have yet to be announced, the MS-Challenger B850M-P WIFI has been listed in China at CNY 799 (approximately $119 USD) at the time of writing.
