Zhitai Unveils TiPlus 9100: High-Performance PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD Powered by YMTC Xtacking 4.0 NAND

Zhitai, the consumer brand of Yangtze Memory Technologies Co. (YMTC), has introduced the TiPlus 9100, marking its debut PCIe 5.0 SSD in the TiPlus series. Designed for demanding applications such as gaming laptops, ultra-thin portables, and high-performance desktop PCs, the TiPlus 9100 leverages YMTC’s advanced Xtacking 4.0 NAND technology to deliver next-generation storage performance.

Performance and Features of the TiPlus 9100

The TiPlus 9100 NVMe M.2 SSD is available in 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB capacities, catering to a wide range of storage needs. Building on the foundation set by YMTC’s earlier PCIe 5.0 client SSD, the PC550, the TiPlus 9100 takes performance to new heights. While the PC550 offered sequential read speeds of up to 10,500 MB/s, the TiPlus 9100 is equipped with a faster controller, achieving sequential read speeds of up to 12,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 10,700 MB/s. Random performance is equally impressive, reaching up to 1,850,000 IOPS.

Despite lacking a dedicated DRAM cache, the TiPlus 9100 maintains high throughput and responsiveness. Its single-sided PCB design ensures compatibility with slim and compact systems, making it an ideal choice for modern laptops and space-constrained desktops. Advanced firmware optimizations help manage power consumption and thermal output, ensuring stable performance even under heavy workloads.

Zhitai also provides proprietary software with the TiPlus 9100, offering users tools for drive health monitoring, performance benchmarking, data migration, temperature tracking, and lifespan estimation. This comprehensive suite enhances user experience and helps maintain optimal SSD performance over time.

YMTC’s Capacity Expansion and Market Impact

YMTC is currently undergoing a significant expansion of its manufacturing capabilities. The company is adding two new fabrication plants in addition to one nearing completion in Wuhan. Once operational, these facilities are expected to double YMTC’s monthly wafer output from 200,000 to approximately 400,000 units. This increased production capacity will bolster the supply of NAND flash memory, supporting Zhitai’s ability to deliver high-performance products like the TiPlus 9100 to a broader market.

Pricing and Availability

According to industry sources, the TiPlus 9100 is priced in mainland China at 1,459 yuan (approximately $200) for the 1 TB model, 2,559 yuan for the 2 TB version, and 4,999 yuan (around $690) for the 4 TB capacity. These competitive price points position the TiPlus 9100 as a compelling option for users seeking top-tier PCIe 5.0 SSD performance.
