Auto-Shutdown for Enhanced GPU Protection
The latest GPU Tweak III update brings support for an auto-shutdown mechanism on ASUS graphics cards equipped with Power Detector+ technology. This feature is designed to automatically power down the system if it detects "persistently high current," a condition that can lead to excessive heat and, ultimately, hardware failure. Currently, the auto-shutdown capability is exclusive to a select group of ASUS GPUs featuring Power Detector+. Supported models include the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090, ROG Astral LC GeForce RTX 5090, ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080, and ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090. One notable solution is the ROG Equalizer cable, a specialized 12V-2×6 cable featuring integrated power balancing technology.
