Intel Arc G3 Processors Set to Power Next-Generation Handheld Devices

Intel is preparing to launch its highly anticipated Arc G3 processor family, which will soon be featured in a range of handheld gaming devices from leading OEM partners. The Arc G3 lineup is designed to deliver impressive graphics performance and energy efficiency, catering to both high-end and entry-level mobile gaming markets.

Arc G3 Configurations: Performance for Every Gamer

The Arc G3 series will be available in multiple configurations to suit different user needs. The standard Arc G3 model is equipped with 10 Xe3 GPU cores, while the flagship Arc G3 Extreme boasts 12 Xe3 GPU cores for enhanced graphics capabilities. Industry rumors also suggest the possibility of an entry-level variant featuring 4 Xe3 GPU cores, aimed at users seeking an affordable solution for gaming at lower resolutions.

In addition to varying GPU core counts, the CPU architecture is expected to differ across models. The entry-level Arc G3 SoC may feature a unique CPU cluster with 4 Performance Cores (P-Cores), no Efficiency Cores (E-Cores), and 4 Low Power Efficiency Cores (LPE-Cores). This configuration is designed to balance performance and power consumption, making it ideal for lightweight handheld gaming devices.

Optimized Power Efficiency and Versatile Performance

Power efficiency is a key focus for the Arc G3 family. Intel is reportedly optimizing these processors for a thermal design power (TDP) range between 8 watts and 25 watts. This approach ensures that devices powered by Arc G3 chips can deliver strong performance while maintaining excellent battery life—an essential feature for portable gaming systems.

The Arc G3 processors are closely related to Intel’s "Panther Lake" family, which includes a variety of SKUs such as the Core Ultra 5 325, Core Ultra 5 335, Core Ultra 7 355, and Core Ultra 7 365. These models offer different combinations of CPU and GPU cores, TDPs, turbo frequencies, NPU TOPS, and GPU clock speeds. Intel may leverage these existing designs as a foundation for the entry-level Arc G3 SoC, ensuring a reliable and efficient platform for OEM partners.

Expanding the Handheld Gaming Landscape

With the introduction of the Arc G3 processor family, Intel is poised to expand its presence in the handheld gaming market. By offering a range of configurations that balance performance, efficiency, and affordability, the Arc G3 series is set to power the next generation of portable gaming devices, delivering immersive experiences to gamers on the go.
