The Samsung P9 portable SSD leverages USB4 technology to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 4,000 MB/s and write speeds of up to 3,800 MB/s—approximately double the performance of the previous generation. For comparison, Samsung’s 4TB T9 SSD with USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface offers up to 2,000 MB/s for both read and write operations.
Setting a new benchmark, the P9 is the world’s first 8TB USB4 portable SSD capable of reaching speeds up to 4,000 MB/s. This innovation earned the P9 a CES 2026 Innovation Award, highlighting Samsung’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of portable storage technology.
With robust sustained write performance, the P9 supports 12K direct recording, making it ideal for professional content creators who need to capture, store, and edit large RAW image files and ultra-high-resolution video without compromise.
P7: Fast and Reliable Storage for Everyday Needs
The Samsung P7 also features USB4 connectivity, delivering fast and convenient storage for a wide range of applications, from work and entertainment to daily file management. The P7 will be available at USD 289.99 for 1TB, USD 549.99 for 2TB, USD 1,149.99 for 4TB, and USD 2,289.99 for 8TB.
