NVIDIA has rolled out version 11.0.9 of its NVIDIA App, bringing a highly requested feature to GeForce users: real-time CPU temperature, clock speed, and power consumption monitoring directly within the built-in Statistics overlay. Previously, gamers needed third-party tools like HWiNFO or MSI Afterburner to keep tabs on processor thermals during gameplay. With this update, essential CPU metrics are now accessible without leaving the NVIDIA ecosystem.
How to Enable the New CPU Metrics Overlay
Activating the enhanced overlay is straightforward. Open the NVIDIA App and press Alt+Z to access the overlay menu. Navigate to the Statistics section, switch to the Custom view, and enable the overlay with Alt+R. Users can then select which performance metrics to display, adjust font size and color for better readability, and choose between a compact horizontal layout or a vertical stack to suit their preferences and screen space.

Enthusiasts seeking in-depth analysis or granular monitoring will still benefit from running tools like RTSS alongside the NVIDIA overlay.
For most GeForce users, however, the addition of CPU temperature and performance metrics addresses a significant gap in the overlay’s functionality.
