NVIDIA is reportedly expediting shipments of GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs to China in anticipation of potential export restrictions. Previously, we reported on NVIDIA's potential cancellation of $5 billion worth of orders. The US government is expected to require an export license for shipping RTX 4090s to China, effectively limiting sales to the country. In response, NVIDIA's add-in-board (AIB) partners are reportedly operating at maximum capacity to produce as many RTX 4090 products as possible for the Chinese market before the potential restriction takes effect on November 17. While it remains uncertain whether the export restrictions will be implemented, the anticipation of such measures has prompted NVIDIA and its partners to accelerate production.

The information comes from Zed Wang, a well-known hardware leaker with a track record of providing accurate insights into NVIDIA's operations. Wang claims that "NVIDIA has been shipping a large quantity of AD102 to AICs this week to manufacture as many RTX 4090s as possible before the original restriction date for RTX 4090 in China. It is still unclear whether the restriction will be enforced or not. However, all AICs are fully committed to producing RTX 4090s regardless of the outcome."
