NVIDIA Announces GeForce RTX 4070 "Ada" Graphics Card
NVIDIA has announced the release of the GeForce RTX 4070 "Ada" graphics card, which will be available starting tomorrow, April 13, at a starting price of $600. The GeForce RTX 4070 is a performance-segment graphics card that uses the same "AD104" silicon as the RTX 4070 Ti, but with fewer features. It has 5,888 CUDA cores, 46 RT cores, 184 Tensor cores, 64 ROPs, and 184 TMUs. The memory subsystem is unchanged from the RTX 4070 Ti, with 12 GB of 21 Gbps GDDR6X memory across a 192-bit memory interface.
The GeForce RTX 4070 is designed for maxed-out AAA gaming at 1440p and high refresh-rate e-sports gaming. It includes all of the features introduced with "Ada," such as dual video encoding hardware accelerators, Optical Flow Accelerator, and DLSS 3 Frame Generation. The card has a typical board power of 200 W, and board partners can use 8-pin PCIe power connectors instead of 16-pin 12VHPWR.
On launch day, the RTX 4070 will be available from NVIDIA's add-in card (AIC) partners, including PNY, MSI, ASUS, and Gainward. NVIDIA has ensured that AIC partners have products priced at MSRP, with premium overclocked cards priced above the MSRP seeing their reviews go live tomorrow, April 13. Both MSRP and premium cards will be available to purchase from April 13. Any card carrying a $600 price-tag will be treated like an MSRP card.
